HISTORY

The company was founded in 1958 in Manresa, this is a city 60 Km away from Barcelona.

It starts as a small machine shop for motorbikes, although since the beginning, we produce special clutches manufactured to palliate the mechanical problems of the period motorbikes.

In 1959, were opened new installations of 190 m2, where a new industrial character is marked even patenting a single disk clutch, that, once shown to different spanish motorbikes factories, was really succesful and MONTESA trademark started to mass mount them.

At the ends of 1960, a new plant of 400 m2 was built, we started to produce a 50 cc motorbike with Cremsa trademark and we get a production of 1000 units (see Historia de la moto Espańola). Some time later, a few units of a revolutionary model of 125 cc, were produced.

Meanwhile, the great success of the patent of the metallic clutch disks get TJT to supply clutches to such important trademarks as: BULTACO, DUCATI, OSSA, HISPANO-WILLIERS... in addition to other different industrial and agricultural applications, getting to a production of 20000 clutch kits a month. Such mass production of clutches makes that, little by little, manufacturing of motorbikes is losing importance in the factory and at the end of 1962, when the company joins all the branches in one new plant of 3000 m2 it decides to stop the production of motorbikes.

In 1982 and after the serious crisis in the motorbike field in Spain, most of the TJT customers almost closed the doors, the company prepares the first final customer catalogue, offering clutch disks kits and many other parts for all the trademarks, having this way, a commercial network all over Spain.

In 1985 we take part in the first international motorbike show in Milan and afterwards in Köln, Paris, Barcelona... placing TJT trademark to an international level with importers in a large number of European countries and also in other continents.

From 1986 to 1990, it extends the range of products, it starts producing variator kits for all the models on the motorbike and scooter market, automatic clutches, springs, transmission kits, carbon reeds, brake disks, brake shoes and pads.

1991 was another very important year as TJT absorbed a pioneer company: INDUSTRIA AUXILIAR DE LA MOTOCICLETA, producing exhaust pipes, luggage racks... since then, TJT technical equipment starts working on the transforming of engines, the manufacturing of exhaust pipes...

After several years in the competition field, in 1995 TJT TEAM is founded. It is a competition team used also to investigate and which competes in 50 cc, scooter and 125 GP, working in national and international level, obtaining in 1998 its first race in the speed world championship. Some pilots as Toni Elias, David Checa, Adrian Araujo, the Perelló brothers... have been members of our Team and have also been formed in our team.

1999, TJT decides entering the OFF ROAD field and starts developing a wide range of parts: 2 and 4 stroke competition exhaust pipes, carbon reeds, clutch disks, sinterized brake pads... parts to come out in 2002 with the new OFF ROAD catalogue.
